About the UX Researcher position

We are looking for a skilled part-time UX Researcher who will design our coaching platform to meet the needs of users, coaches, and employers. You will study and empathise with the needs and expectations of professionals, generate actionable insights to define platform features and design considerations, and communicate these needs to the product team, UXUI designer(s), and developers. The end result will be a coaching platform that users love because it's user-friendly, intuitive, and impactful.

A successful candidate should be a structured, analytical, and empathetic researcher who is able to engage users in interviews, grasp user needs, and solve complex problems. We expect you to have experience leading research workstreams or projects, demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing team, and have a strong alignment with our purpose and values.

UX Researcher responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product & founder to identify research hypotheses
  • Establish a research project plan with clear objectives and stakeholder mapping
  • Write, design, and distribute surveys, interpret response effects and navigate factors influencing response rate
  • Meet potential users to gather information about their personas, needs, and preferences
  • Conduct competitor research and stay informed on industry trends
  • Perform concept and prototype usability testing and gather actionable feedback
  • Analyse data to draw insights and support hypotheses and establish clear personas
  • Effectively communicate insights to product team, UX designers, and developers

UX Researcher requirements:

  • Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology or related experience
  • Strong, confident communicator with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Good listener and empathetic with customers to help understand their requirements
  • Innovative and creative approach to understanding customer requirements
  • Understanding of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories/functional specifications
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative user research methods, including user requirements gathering
  • Open, flexible and adaptable mindset and able to work in a fast moving environment
  • Familiar with major productivity tools (such as Slack and Notion) and major research tools
